The dramatic rescue unfolded as forces from the 135 Special Forces Battalion stormed terrorist strongholds at Dutse Kura along the Buratai–Kamuya Road. Overpowering the insurgents in intense combat, the troops destroyed 11 hideouts and seized a cache of weapons, ammunition, vehicles, and motorcycles.

The terrorists, caught off guard, fled in disarray after a fierce firefight near Mangari village, suffering heavy losses while Nigerian forces reported zero casualties.

In a parallel sweep, military intelligence led to the arrest of 29 logistics suppliers at Mangada, accused of funneling critical supplies—including fuel, tyres, food, and medicine—to the terrorist groups. These arrests underscore the military’s widening net to dismantle the insurgents’ support networks.

The Military High Command commended the troops for their bravery and precision, directing commanders to maintain relentless pressure and deny terrorists any freedom of action across the region.

This operation marks a significant milestone in the ongoing fight to restore peace in Nigeria’s northeast, boosting morale among locals and signaling that Boko Haram and ISWAP’s grip is weakening under sustained military assault. Authorities vow to continue such proactive raids to ensure lasting security.
