According to security sources, the troops acted on intelligence about suspicious movements along an illegal route close to the military base.

The suspects were reportedly travelling in five vehicles when they were stopped by the troops.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the individuals were allegedly involved in smuggling activities and were suspected of collaborating with terrorist elements operating in the region.
