Super Eagles and Galatasaray attacker Victor Osimhen has emerged as one of the hottest strikers in world football, Soccernet.ng reports.

This follows reports of top European clubs plotting moves for the Nigerian striker ahead of the next transfer window.

After an impressive run at Galatasaray, Osimhen continues to attract interest thanks to his goal-scoring exploits and his proven strength in attack.

Leading the chase are FC Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, both reportedly evaluating whether the Nigerian can step into pivotal roles for their respective squads.

While Bayern is planning for life after Harry Kane, PSG remain cautious due to his high salary and transfer valuation.

Five European clubs eyeing Osimhen

According to reports from Footmercato's Sebastien Denis, aside from Bayern and PSG, Manchester United, Juventus FC, and Atlético Madrid have also been linked with Osimhen.

While none of these clubs have made concrete moves, they are reportedly monitoring his situation closely, keeping tabs on his form and contract status at Galatasaray.

Outside Europe, Saudi Arabian clubs have also expressed interest, though a move to the Middle East is currently not the Super Eagles forward’s priority, as he aims to continue competing at the highest level of European football.

Is he a perfect fit for Bayern Munich?

Former Super Eagles striker Jonathan Akpoborie, who spent much of his career in Germany, weighed in on Osimhen’s potential move. Speaking on the Playzone podcast, he said:

“He’s doing fantastically well at Galatasaray. He developed in Germany and must have learnt a little bit of German. The background of his development was in Germany. He knows the culture from Wolfsburg, so it will be very easy for him to fit in.”

Akpoborie also reflected on the financial and personal sides of Osimhen’s career:

“I strongly believe one of the reasons Osimhen is at Galatasaray is money. Maybe the agent was greedy. Then, everything around Victor was always a drama. His abusing Finidi; everyone saw that. Everyone watches a top player in today’s game. Talent isn’t enough, behaviour off the pitch plays an important role because those little things affect the team. Before he fought the National team coach, he already fought his coach at Napoli.”

The former VfL Wolfsburg forward concluded by comparing himself to Osimhen:

“I first saw Victor at Wolfsburg. I love him a lot, and we have a picture together. I’d compare myself to him in the way we played on the pitch, but without all the drama that he does on the pitch, which he doesn’t really need.”

Bayern will have to weigh the Nigerian star’s undeniable talent against these concerns, but his experience in Germany and proven goal-scoring record make him a tempting option as the club looks to shape its next-generation strike force.
