Top Grade 10 Schools Teaching Humanities and Kenya Sign Language Combination

Under Kenya’s CBC Senior School (Grades 10–12), the Social Sciences pathway focuses on humanities, business, languages and social studies. Learners choose 3–5 subjects under this pathway.

The Humanities & Business Studies track includes subjects such as:

• Business Studies
• Geography
• Kenya Sign Language (KSL) (when combined with Business and Geography in approved subject combinations)
• History and Citizenship
• Christian/Islamic/Hindu Religious Education
• Mathematics

The Business Studies, Geography, and Kenya Sign Language combination is approved under the Social Sciences pathway, Humanities & Business Studies track and coded typically as SS2118 by the Ministry of Education.

Cluster 1 Schools Offering the Combination

At the senior school level, Cluster 1 schools (national/excellence level) and some county schools offer Social Sciences combinations, including Business Studies, Geography, and Kenya Sign Language.

How to Change Grade 10 School Choices Before Admission 

For grade 10 learners seeking to change schools, the following process is applicable;

• Schools will declare vacancies through their respective County Directors of Education.
• Requests to transfer must be submitted through the heads of junior schools at least two weeks before the official Grade 10 reporting date.
• Priority is given to learners who have previously selected the schools they are requesting.
• Approvals for transfers will be based on the documented capacity of the senior schools, as assessed by the Ministry of Education.
• Once approved, joining instructions will be accessed online, and schools are not permitted to issue printed letters for replacement cases.
