A Limited Edition Luxe, Hand-Assembled Swiss Timepiece in Two Colorways

Todd Snyder, a leading voice in American menswear, has partnered with AERA Instruments, the design-led watchmaker founded by industry veterans Jas Minhas and Olof Larsson. Together, they are launching the AERA x Todd Snyder D-1 Diver, a contemporary evolution of the mid century tool watch, available in two sleek limited edition colorways: Blackout and Whiteout.

The AERA x Todd Snyder D-1 Diver is a masterclass in functional minimalism. Inspired by the robust tool watches worn by 20th century salvage divers and combat frogmen, the collaborative edition retains professional-grade specifications while being reimagined for everyday life. Limited to just 25 units in Blackout and 25 units in Whiteout, each watch is individually numbered and engraved with both the Todd Snyder and AERA logos.

Design Philosophy and Inspiration

Snyder worked hand in hand with AERA on the design. “When designing, I am always thinking about where the guy is going, the car he’s driving, and the watch on his wrist,” says Todd Snyder, Founder and Creative Director. “The Diver’s color palette was inspired by an off-road expedition through Icelandic landscapes. ‘Blackout’ captures the depth of obsidian volcanic sands, while ‘Whiteout’ reflects the stark, clean profile of glacial waters.”

Meticulously hand-assembled in Switzerland, these D-1 Divers feature a Grade 2 titanium case finished in black and grey DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon), an anti-reflective domed sapphire crystal, and a quick-release rubber strap. Orange accents pop against the tonal watch face, and in low-light conditions, the Super LumiNova® on the markers, numerals, and hands glows green for visibility. With a Swiss Automatic Movement and water resistance up to 300 meters, these timepieces are ready for anything.

Heritage Meets Innovation

These special edition D-1 watches remain true to the identity of the original D-1 Diver launched in 2022, featuring the same single-piece dished dial, high-visibility markings both day and night, and a unidirectional bezel, with a striking curved sapphire crystal that seamlessly integrates with the bezel and ceramic insert. For AERA, these are hallmarks that define the 21st-century tool watch; they also pay homage to the 1950s and 1960s, the golden era of dive watches. Every AERA watch is backed by a 3-year warranty and is housed in a protective custom Italian leather pouch, handmade in the UK.

Technical Specifications

Both the Blackout and Whiteout editions feature the Sellita SW200 1 Elabore grade automatic movement, with a tolerance of +/- 7s to +/- 20s per day, 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), and a 38 to 41 hour power reserve. The movement includes 26 jewels, hacking seconds, and an Incabloc shock protection system for durability and precision.

The case measures 44mm in diameter, 15.9mm thick, and has a lug-to-lug distance of 49.8mm. Despite its substantial dimensions, the watch weighs only 76 grams without the strap, thanks to its titanium construction. The 22mm lug width accommodates the FKM rubber strap with quick-release functionality and a DLC-finished titanium buckle.

The Blackout edition features a matte velvet-black one-piece dished dial, while the Whiteout edition showcases a matte velvet-white dial. Both versions include grey 3D Super LumiNova markers with a height of 0.25mm that glow green in low-light conditions. The hours and minute hands are grey lacquered frames filled with Super LumiNova®, while the seconds hand features orange lacquer for a striking contrast.

The unidirectional 120-click bezel is crafted from titanium with either a matt-black or matt-white ceramic insert, hand-filled with Swiss Super-LumiNova®. The domed sapphire crystal receives two coats of anti-reflective coating on the underside for optimal clarity. The titanium case back is secured with six black screws and engraved with key data and specifications. Matching serial numbers appear on both the case back and the rear of the bottom right lug, ensuring authenticity.

The AERA x Todd Snyder D-1 Diver retails for $2,898. The collection will officially launch on February 10th, 2026, at 10 am ET, exclusively online at ToddSnyder.com and AERA.co.
