“This is false” – DJ Switch denies being arrested by the Nigerian police, sends strong warning to Nigeria blogs

Popular #EndSARS campaigner and disc jockey Obianuju Catherine Udeh professionally known as DJ Switch in a recent post on social media denied being arrested by the Nigerian Police.

Taking to his verified page on X on Thurday morning, April 18th 2024, DJ Switch said that the information making the rounds about him was false and by extension sends strong warning to Nigerian blogs.

Recall It was earlier reported that DJ Switch visited the police in Elemoro, Ajah, on Monday, April 15th, to report a man who allegedly defrauded her. The police stated that the man was apprehended on the same day and has since been in their custody.

According to a police source speaking to LIB, DJ Switch was invited on April 17th to clarify her intentions regarding the case. They sought to determine whether she wanted the accused to face charges in court or to be released on bail. The police emphasized that detaining an accused for more than 48 hours without charging them is against the law.

The police source claimed that DJ Switch insisted that she only wanted the accused to issue an apology, which she intended to record and share online. However, the accused reportedly refused this request. Consequently, as neither party was willing to compromise, the police decided to escalate the matter to court.

According to the police source, when officers were preparing to transport the accused to court, DJ Switch allegedly blocked the entrance of the station with her vehicle and purportedly assaulted the female officers involved in the case.

Following the alleged incident, DJ Switch was arrested on charges of obstructing police duties, resisting arrest, and assaulting police officers. Meanwhile, the accused was taken to court and subsequently remanded in prison custody.

The information concluded that DJ Switch was arraigned at the Magistrate in Eti-Osa for obstructing police officers while on duty and assaulting officers.

Taking to her official page on X, DJ Switch denies the claim of being arrested because she assaulted female police officers.

She blasted Nigerian blogs for having a huge taste for clickbait stressing that most of the country’s blogs found it hard to do thorough investigation before sharing news to the public.

Moving on, she accused Nigerian blogs of defaming her adding that her lawyers have screenshotted the names of blogs who have written the news of her being arrested.

She concluded that blogs have till the end of day to take down this false news and kindly replace it with a post correcting their mistake.

DJ Switch wrote; “Good morning all. I was woken up by a barrage of calls and text this morning. I wondered why because I know today is not my birthday. Only to find that I, have been arrested <div class= Read Original
