Thiago Silva open to Brazil return ahead 2026 World Cup

Fluminense defender Thiago Silva has declared willingness to return to international duty for Brazil if called up by head coach Carlo Ancelotti.

The veteran centre-back, who turned 41 in September, last featured for the Selecao in 2022 but says he remains physically and mentally ready to represent his country once again.

Speaking in an interview with Premiere, the former Chelsea star expressed  desire to be part of Brazil’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup

He said: “I am at Carlo Ancelotti’s disposal.

“If he wants to call me, I’ll be happy to come. And if he doesn’t call me, life goes on. But of course, another World Cup would be exceptional.

“Knowing that my contract with Fluminense ends at the end of the competition… Imagine if I end my career by winning the World Cup! It would be a wonderful ending.”
