PFN President Wale Oke Calls for Tinubu–Trump Partnership to End Christian Killings in Nigeria

The President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Francis Wale Oke, has urged President Bola Tinubu to partner with former U.S. President Donald Trump in tackling what he described as an ongoing Christian genocide in Nigeria.

Speaking in Ibadan, Oke said the widespread killings and abductions of Christians in parts of Benue, Taraba, Southern Kaduna, Plateau, Ondo, and Niger States cannot be denied. He cited tragic cases such as Deborah Samuel, Leah Sharibu, and the Chibok girls, describing them as evidence of religious persecution.

“There is Christian genocide in Nigeria. No Christian group is attacking Muslims. The patience of the church is being stretched,” Oke declared.

The PFN leader clarified that the violence is mainly driven by radical groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP, not by the Muslim community as a whole. He appreciated Trump’s earlier stance—when the U.S. listed Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern—but called for collaboration, not confrontation.

“President Tinubu should seek cooperation with Trump to root out terrorism and restore peace,” Oke added, stressing that the government must act decisively to protect all citizens.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that President Tinubu is currently holding talks with religious leaders following Trump’s renewed warning about possible U.S. intervention against terrorist networks in Nigeria.
