Mitsubishi built the final Lancer Evolution back in 2015, and early this decade in 2021, Subaru followed suit by manufacturing the final WRX STI. There have been a few Japan-only special editions that bear the STI name, but for all intents and purposes, the chapter has closed on rally-inspired super sedans that define generations of automotive enthusiasm in the 1990s and 2000s. Or has it? The 2025 Subaru WRX tS may not be a fully-fledged Subaru Tecnica International model, but it was "tuned by STI" and is now the last way to get a manual transmission all-wheel-drive sport sedan in America. That's gotta count for something, right?
