The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a public alert on the circulation of counterfeit Cowbell “Our Milk” 12g sachets in Nigeria. According to NAFDAC, the original manufacturers, Promasidor Nigeria Limited, discontinued the production of Cowbell “Our Milk” in September 2023, replacing it with Cowbell “Our Creamy Goodness”. The continued presence of the old sachets in the market indicates they are fake and potentially unsafe for consumption. NAFDAC has advised distributors, retailers, and consumers to exercise caution and refrain from purchasing the counterfeit product. Members of the public are urged to check the labeling of all Cowbell milk products carefully, purchase only from trusted sources, and report any suspicious items to the nearest NAFDAC office. This alert comes as part of NAFDAC’s ongoing efforts to safeguard public health and ensure that only certified and genuine products are available in the Nigerian market.
