The more you hold unto your past, the more it holds unto you.

You lost a good relationship in the past and because of that you have given up on love and on relationship, you keep shutting the door of your heart against anyone that comes your way, you're holding unto your past and you need to let go.

Everything that happened in the past should remain in the past, the past has nothing to do with the future, not everyone is like your ex. Everyone has different character and attributes. Don't let one person's attitude push you into chasing away a whole lot of people who are interested in you.

Bury your past, life is a risk, no matter how many times you have been hurt, try and let it go, that should not stop you from accepting someone else, just be careful and make sure you don't repeatedly make mistakes you made in the past.
