The Inexorable March of Zack Sabre Jr. Will Lead Us All to Happiness

AEW’s YouTube Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what's going on in pro wrestling — Wrestler Rankings are where YOU let us know YOURS. Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the five performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. We also have the outcome of last week's voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for the Cageside Cup, given to our Performer of the Year. This week, we’re voting on nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows that took place Aug. 25-31, 2024 — AEW All In, Raw, NXT, Powerrr, Speed, Dynamite, Impact, Fusion, ROH on HonorClub, SmackDown, Rampage, Level Up, NJPW Capital Collision, TNA Emergence, WWE Bash in Berlin, Collision, and everything else I’m no doubt forgetting. Somebody give these Frenchmen a lesson in British politics...

  • Some of his support was probably for winning the G1 the Sunday before, but making it to Wembley was obviously worthy of votes as well.
  • An old Rankings favorite was in second for winning CMLL’s Grand Prix and going to a draw with a great (who, not coincidentally, finished fourth), and earned his first points of the year in the process.
  • We believe in voting for the #1 contenders for NXT’s main titles, putting them in third and seventh.
  • Successful title defenses put some SmackDown stars in the Top Ten, but only one-half of each of the Tag Team champions made the cut. Or I guess we should say the then-champs, in the case of the Women’s belts. At least on the men’s side, the guy who helped win the titles for his faction also placed, even if his boss made him give up the strap.
  • The men’s Tag champ mentioned in that last bullet tied with the wrestler who was in the midst of her undefeated run through Stardom’s 5Star Grand Prix.

Ready to do it again? You can always check the “how to” here if you need it, or ask a question in the comments. The main things you need to know are you have five spots on your ballot, you can’t put the same person in two of them, but you can split a single or multiple spots between multiple wrestlers. Now...

Let’s have those ballots! We’ll take it from there, and see you back here in a week for the results and another vote!
