The Func. Lab raises $1.5M seed funding to expand clean-label nutrition products

Nutrition-focused startup The Func. Lab has raised $1.5 million in seed funding from a group of investors including Nisaba Godrej, Anand Piramal, Abhishek Nayar, Bhakti Modi, Harsh Parekh and Sahil Vora.

The startup will use the raised capital to expand its product portfolio, strengthen distribution and supply chain capabilities, and scale its presence across digital, quick-commerce and offline retail channels.

Founded in 2025 by Sohrab Khushrushahi, Sahil Kukreja and Daneesh Davar, The Func. Lab operates in the hydration, protein and functional wellness categories.

Its product range includes electrolytes, whey protein isolate, whey protein concentrate and plant protein products.

The Func. Lab said its protein powders and electrolytes are third-party lab tested for nutritional accuracy, heavy metals and contaminants. Its products are made with transparent labels and without gums, emulsifiers or artificial sweeteners.

“We’ve always believed that nutrition products should be judged by what’s inside the pack, not by marketing claims. This capital allows us to invest further in product development, expand access across India, and continue building a brand rooted in trust, transparency, and effectiveness,” said Sohrab Khushrushahi, Co-Founder of The Func. Lab.

Since launching in July 2025, The Func. Lab has expanded across direct-to-consumer (D2C), e-commerce, quick-commerce and offline retail channels.

The startup is now increasing its focus on hydration, with plans to expand its electrolyte and recovery product range while making its products available across more locations in India.
