It took a while to get here, but when the Honda Civic Type R finally arrived in the States in 2017, the model quickly shot to the top of the front-wheel-drive sporty hatchback segment. The current-generation FL5 version took over in 2023, and incremental changes across almost every area have helped keep the vehicle at the head of the pack.
