For years, SUPER73 has been the undisputed king of the “electric mini-moto” vibe prioritizing swagger and streetwear aesthetics over traditional cycling ergonomics. But with the debut of the all-new A-Series, the Southern California brand is finally leaning into what many of its riders actually do: commute.

The A-Series represents the most significant redesign in the company’s history, swapping the one-size-fits-most approach for a lineup built on three distinct frame heights and a clever modular battery system.

Three Heights, One Identity

One of the longest-running criticisms of SUPER73 was that taller riders often felt like they were riding a tricycle. The A-Series solves this by offering three different seat heights to ensure a proper fit:

  • MZFT (27”): The compact, agile option ($1,995)

  • M1D (30”): The mid-size “Goldilocks” platform ($2,495)

  • B1G (33”): The largest frame for those who need actual leg extension ($2,595)

Each model also features a Special Edition (SE) variant (up to $2,995) that adds adjustable front suspension, larger batteries, and upgraded digital displays.

The Modular Battery Game-Changer

The A-Series introduces a new 52V GEN2 modular battery system. Each pack offers 520 Wh of capacity and weighs about 8 lbs.

The “Build-Your-Own-Range” Strategy: You can now run a single battery for lightweight city sprints or snap in a second pack to clear the 1 kWh mark, effectively doubling your range for longer commutes. It’s a smart way to manage weight and cost without committing to a massive, permanent battery every day.

Practicality Meets Street Cred

While the frames are still chunky and the seats are still that classic “bench” style, SUPER73 has added integrated storage solutions and more refined tech to make these daily-driver friendly. It’s an acknowledgment that while riders come for the “vibe,” they stay for the usability.

The Verdict

The A-Series feels like SUPER73 is growing up. By addressing fit and range flexibility while maintaining their signature “California cool” design language, they’ve created a bridge between lifestyle e-bikes and genuine transportation. It’s still a premium-priced lineup, but for those who want a commuter that looks just as good at a cafe as it does in a bike lane, the A-Series is a major step forward.
