The Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has officially appointed the Super Eagles of Nigeria captain, Ahmed Musa, as the state’s Sports Ambassador.

A statement released by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa, on Sunday, confirmed the appointment of Ahmed Musa, who is currently without a club after terminating his contract with Turkish side Sivasspor on February 26, 2024.

Musa’s new role was part of the approval the governor gave for the appointment of a new management team for the Kano Pillars Football Club, following the expiration and subsequent dissolution of the previous management board.

The newly constituted board members are set to serve an interim term of one year, with the potential for extension based on the club’s performance in the upcoming season.

The newly appointed Chairman is Ali Umar (Nayara Mai Samba), and Salisu Kosawa has been named an Honorary member. Additionally, the board includes members such as Yusuf Danladi (Andy Cole), Nasiru Bello, Muhammad Ibrahim (Hassan West), Muhammad Usman, and Muhammad Gwarzo.

Others are, Mustapha Dankura, Ahmad Musbahu, Rabiu Abdullahi, and Usman Naisa. Abubakar Yamalash and Ismail Tangalash will assume the roles of Media Director and Deputy Media Director respectively.

Expressing his confidence in the newly appointed individuals, the governor emphasized their wealth of knowledge and experiences, which he believes will be pivotal in effectively managing and overseeing the affairs of Kano Pillars FC.

The new board is expected to collaborate closely with the state Ministry of Youth and Sports and other relevant stakeholders in the sports industry to advance the interests of Kano Pillars FC.
