Bengaluru-based spacetech startup Xovian Aerospace has raised $2 million  (about Rs 18.7 crore) in a fresh funding round led by Ashish Kacholia. Existing backer Inflection Point Ventures also participated.

The startup plans to use the raised capital to develop its satellite systems, expand its engineering and AI teams, and strengthen commercial partnerships.

Founded in 2019 by Ankit Bhateja and Raghav Sharma, Xovian Aerospace is building what it describes as an “AI-powered RF satellite infrastructure”. Its technology focuses on capturing and analysing radio frequency (RF) signals from space to generate real-time intelligence.

The firm is preparing to launch its first AI-native RF satellite, designed to detect and decode dynamic signals. It aims to address a key limitation of traditional satellite imaging, which can struggle to track ships and aircraft when their transponders are switched off or signals go dark.

Xovian said its platform converts RF data into actionable insights, enabling “real-time situational awareness, asset monitoring, and predictive insights”.

It combines geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) and signals intelligence (SIGINT) into what it calls a unified decision intelligence layer.

The startup added that its radio-based hardware has been developed indigenously and will now be deployed in space.

The latest investment follows a $2.5 million  pre-seed round raised in August last year from investors including Piper Serica, Turbostart and Eaglewings Ventures.
