Stella McCartney has unveiled Fevvers, the world’s first plant-based feather, as the defining material of her Spring/Summer 2026 collection. The innovation appeared exclusively in the show’s ethereal finale dresses, marking the most significant step yet in the designer’s three-decade pursuit of luxury without compromise.

Fevvers is a vegetable-dyed, entirely plant-derived alternative, engineered to replicate the lightness, softness, and fluid movement of natural plumage. Developed in partnership with the London-based startup of the same name, it eliminates the need for feathers harvested from birds while preserving the theatrical volume and delicacy that feathers have long provided in couture.
