Skybound J & B Connect Ltd, marketing consultants to the Nigeria National League (NNL), has lauded the recent influx of corporate sponsorship into Nigeria’s second-tier football league.

John Joshua Akanji, CEO of Skybound J & B Connect Ltd, stated in Lagos that this corporate support is a direct result of the exemplary work carried out by the George Aluo-led NNL board.

“The groundbreaking mega partnership deals secured by the Nigerian National League Board indicate the confidence, trust, and new direction provided by the George Aluo-led Board,” Akanji affirmed.

Akanji highlighted the significant transformation within the Nigerian National League, citing an improved standard of play, better officiating, and a reduction in violence, all of which are attracting corporate interest.

“Any discerning individual can witness the impact of the transformative leadership at the NNL under Mr George Aluo’s capable guidance. This is precisely why corporate entities are now investing in the Nigerian National League,” Akanji explained. He contrasted this with the past, where “no sponsor wanted to put its money in the league due to poor officiating, crowd violence, and the ‘win at home’ syndrome.”

Akanji noted the positive shift: “Happily, today the story is changing as teams win away from home without fear of being attacked or molested by the fans of the losing teams. This is a new dawn for Nigerian football.” He pointed to Betpawa and TopTier Sports Management (TSM) as examples of companies that have already partnered with the NNL, with discussions also progressing with BlockChain Sports Arena.

“Other companies, individuals, and organisations should take a cue from these companies to support the Most Important League. And for us at Skybound J and B Connect Ltd, we are proud to be part of the new dawn in NNL. Things can only get better,” the statement concluded.

Notably, the Nigeria National League recently secured a significant new sponsorship deal with gaming company BetPawa, reportedly worth over ₦494 million. This deal includes a unique “Locker Room Bonus” for players and coaches. Furthermore, Toptier Sports Management (TSM) is set to inject billions into the league over a 10-year period.
