Six Tourists, Including Five-Year-Old Boy, D£es in Boat Crash in Brazil

Six tourists, including a five-year-old boy, have di£d following a tragic boat crash on the Rio Grande River in Brazil. The incident involved a group of visitors from the city of Franca, located in São Paulo.

Authorities said the accident occurred on February 21, 2026, while 15 people were on board the vessel. The boat reportedly overturned, causing several passengers to become trapped beneath the heavy hull.

Despite the rapid efforts of local residents, who rushed in to assist before emergency services arrived, six people lost their lives. Nine other occupants were rescued and survived the ordeal.

Among the victims were Viviane Aparecida Aredes, who tragically turned 36 on the day of her death, and her five-year-old son, Bento Aredes Ferreira.

The remaining victims were identified as Marina Rodrigues Matias, 22; Juliana Fernanda de Oliveira Silva Ferreira, 40; Erica Fernanda Leal Lima, 40; and Wesley Carlos da Costa, 45, who was operating the speedboat at the time of the accident.
