Singer D4vd was making big money as minor with lucrative record deal

By the time he was finishing high school, singer-songwriter D4vd was already making millions.  Court records show that he signed a minors contract with Darkroom and Interscope Records in September 2022 at just 17 years old, securing a lucrative deal with a multi-million dollar advance. The contract, obtained by TMZ, guaranteed D4vd at least $3 million for delivering an EP, a studio album, and other material. He was paid $500,000 upon signing, followed by another $250,000, and a final installment of $2.25 million. If the terms were fully met, the deal could have ballooned to $6 million. The arrangement explains the young artists lavish lifestyle in recent years, including driving a Tesla and residing in a Hollywood Hills rental said to cost $20,000 a month. That same Tesla is now at the centre of a criminal investigation. Police discovered the chopped-up, decomposing remains of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas in the car earlier this month, just a day before what would have been her 15th birthday. Authorities said the vehicle was abandoned near a Hollywood Hills residence where D4vd had been living with his manager. Investigators have since searched the property for evidence related to the girls death. Rivas had reportedly run away from home on multiple occasions in 2024 and was once located in Hollywood before being returned to her family in Lake Elsinore. The cause of her death remains under investigation, and police have not identified a suspect. The discovery has cast a shadow over D4vds rising career. Since signing with Interscope, he has released two EPs and his debut studio album, and was in the middle of a world tour when Rivas body was found. That tour has since been cancelled. Interscope has paused promotion of his upcoming deluxe album and suspended all active marketing campaigns but has not confirmed whether it intends to cut ties with the artist.
