“Sifuna Must Go! He’s a Mole in ODM,” Declares Senator Cherargei

Nandi Senator Samson Kiprotich Cherargei has urged the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to remove Edwin Sifuna from his position as Secretary-General following his speech at Raila Odinga’s funeral.

Speaking through his social media accounts on Sunday, October 19, Cherargei claimed that all ODM leaders, except Sifuna, pledged to remain in President William Ruto’s government as instructed by the late Raila Odinga.

“The entire ODM leadership except Sifuna have confirmed that Baba Raila Odinga instructed them to stay & work with President Ruto administration under Broadbased government.” Cherargei said.

The vocal Nandi Senator went on to claim that Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna is the biggest threat to the growth of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

As such, Cherargei urged the party’s leadership to remove Sifuna from his position as Secretary-General.

” The biggest threat to growth of ODM to be in government or to form government in FUTURE is Sifuna & company by the end of this year 2025 he MUST be removed from ODM as the secretary General . He is the mole of united opposition in ODM. Baba podpek. Rest well Jakom.” the Nandi senator added.

Following the death of Raila Odinga, leaders of his party, ODM, are expected to announce the way forward in the coming days. The interim party leader is Raila’s elder brother, Oburu Odinga, a position Raila had held for 20 years.

Before his death, the former Prime Minister had pledged to work with President Ruto’s administration until 2027, after which he would give directions on the next steps. However, Raila Odinga’s untimely death has left a huge vacuum in the party. Most of his loyalists in ODM have vowed to continue working with President Ruto, as Raila had requested before his passing.
