In Ogun State, a secondary school teacher, Lateef Olaniran, has been apprehended for allegedly sexually assaulting a young woman whose identity has not been disclosed.

Lateef Olaniran, a native of Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State, works as a Mathematics teacher at Ebenezer Grammar School in Iberekodo, Abeokuta.

He is an employee of the Ogun State Teaching Service Commission and holds the service number OGNO.30650. The State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Adijat Olaleye, revealed this development in a statement issued on Wednesday.

According to the Commissioner, Olaniran was taken into custody on Saturday after a young lady contacted a member of her team to report that she had been sexually assaulted.

Upon receiving the report, the Ministry initiated an investigation and took the victim for various medical tests. Subsequently, the victim was accompanied to the police station to file a report.
