Sam George proposes raising Ghana’s military enlistment age limit to 35

Ghana’s Minister of Communications, Sam George, has called for a review of the maximum age limit for enlistment into the country’s military.

In a social media post, he argued that the current age restrictions prevent capable and patriotic citizens from serving their nation.

“I honestly believe it is time for our beloved nation to re-examine the maximum age for enlistment into our military services,” he wrote, suggesting that the upper limit be extended to 35 years. According to him, many Ghanaians in their 30s remain physically fit and mentally sound enough to contribute effectively to national defense.
