Although 2025 was a decent year for some automakers, ongoing concerns over inflation and trade uncertainty prevented that from being a universal sentiment. One of the most stark sales dropoffs of last year was the excellent Mazda CX-30, one of our favorite small crossovers for its blend of premium styling and an enjoyable driving experience. The automaker only sold 56,684 examples of its entry-level SUV in 2025, a 41 percent drop from the previous year's 96,515. But according to company representatives, the slower showroom traffic for the CX-30 was a deliberate choice.
