Rumors for the Day:

• On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said Gable Steveson was released by WWE because he had a big money contract and wasn’t living up to it.
• Meanwhile, Fightful says Trey Bearhill’s release from NXT was a surprise to many within the company “from talent to production and other roles within the brand.”
• They also say injuries were preventing some recently released talent from getting opportunities in NXT before they were let go.
• Cora Jade recently told fans at an NXT house show that she’s a few months away from returning to action. The latest word is that she’s still apparently far off, however.
• Fightful Select says that for whatever it’s worth, Chris Jericho anticipated the negative fan response to his match with HOOK.
• They also say that despite Wendi Richter’s name being mentioned recently, and her own comments about as much, she won’t be appearing in AEW anytime soon.
