It’s that time again. Let’s get right to what’s going around the rumor mill.

Today’s rumor of the day: Brock Lesnar’s status

We really went from John Cena doing a whole retirement tour and promising to really be done at a very certain time to nothing but uncertainty with the status of some top stars in WWE. One of those top stars is Brock Lesnar, who may or may not have left hung up his boots for good following his loss to Oba Femi at WrestleMania.

Lesnar was recently moved to the Alumni section of the WWE website, which was quickly taken as another sign he’s well and truly done with the company. Well, PW Insider now brings word that he’s still listed as an active performer, at least internally, within WWE. For that matter, he’s still considered a free agent as he’s not tied to any one brand.

They were unable to clear up why he isn’t listed as such on the WWE.com page, however.

Meanwhile, the Observer brings a reminder that Dave Meltzer was told to treat the entire thing as an angle. We shall see if that’s what it turns out to be.

Hey, why not have Lesnar be a surprise answer to an Oba Femi open challenge in a few months and have him put the rising star over once again at SummerSlam? That’s just me spitballing, to be clear.

Other rumors floating around

  • Fightful Select notes that WWE coming to Ireland for WrestleMania is viewed as a “long term project” but there are some roadblocks in the way. Croke Park in Dublin would be the likely site.
  • Over the weekend WWE filed to trademark “WWE Superstar Scramble” for video game purposes, leading to speculation about a new mobile game.
  • For what it’s worth, Matt Jackson said on the Being The Elite Vlog that there were talks with Triple H about making a New Day match happen back in 2018 to the point they were serious about it and “thought we would be able to do it” but obviously it never came to be.
  • Action figure collector and YouTuber Kyle Peterson claimed a source told him “the entire AEW Jazwares team over there at Jazwares were laid off on Friday”. Jazwares has been AEW’s licensed partner for toys since 2020.
