Rumors for the Day:

• Regarding WWE not renewing Jerry Lawler’s talent contract, a source told PW Insider that Lawler’s exit is proof “the old company is dead”. If Vince McMahon still ran WWE, the source says “certain people” such as Lawler “would have been taken care of”.
• Orlando and New Orleans had been considered frontrunners for upcoming WrestleManias prior to Endeavor’s acquisition of WWE, according to PW Insider. With TKO now running things, the cities are “are not guaranteed locks going forward”.
• Insider’s WrestleMania report also covered London’s interest in hosting WWE’s biggest event. It reiterates that future sites will “primarily” be picked on the basis of rights fees and government bids, so If London “is willing to pony up the money, WWE President Nick Khan and his team will be extremely receptive”.
• WWE recently promoted Chris Legentil from Senior Vice President, Head of Global Communications to Executive Vice President, Talent Relations & Head of Communications, according to PW Insider. Legentil took over Talent Relations when Dan Ventrelle was fired last month.
• After PW Insider reported he was checked out by AEW’s medical team in Jacksonville last week, Ricky Starks posted on X that was because “everyone had to do their annual physical”, before adding “To ease anyone’s mind, I’m not injured. Never was. Pick another narrative pleaseeeee”.
• Just a little more than a week after he returned to the ring for the first time in six months on AEW Collision, Rey Fenix wasn’t able to wrestle as planned at House of Glory’s Cinco de Mayo show this past Sunday. His brother Penta El Zero Miedo told the crowd Fenix wasn’t medically cleared.
• Alicia Taylor is moving from NXT to the main roster post-Backlash, per Fightful Select. This is part of Fightful’s report last week that Mike Rome is now working NXT.
