Rotary Club Nnewi Urban installs 10th President

The Rotary club of Nnewi Urban has on Saturday installed of the 10th club President, Rotarian Obiora Aghazu in a colourful ceremony at Nnewi Hotels and Events Center.

Rotarian Aghazu takes over from Rtn. Chigozie Nnoruka.

Speaking at the occasion, the out gone club President, pointed out that Rotary Club encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and in particular to encourage and foster and development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service.

Rtn Nnoruka at the occasion also presented the four objectives of Rotary Club as well as the eight code of conduct for members of the club.

He thanked all the members of the club in Nnewi Urban for their support and cooperation all through his tenure.

The newly installed 10th President of Nnewi Urban, Rtn Aghazu said that he accepted the privilege of leading the club for the 2026, 2027 Rotary Year with a deep sense of gratitude, humility and responsibility.

“This moment is not mine alone, it belongs to every person who has walked this journey with me, supported me, encouraged me, challenged me, and helped shaped the values that have brought me here today,” he said.

He appreciated the Almighty God, whose grace has sustained him through every season of his life even as he extended his gratitude to the members of Rotary Club of Nnewi Urban for entrusting him with this responsibility .

“Leadership in Rotary is not a reward, it’s is a call to service. I accept this office fully aware of the responsibility it carriers and fully committed to the ideals of Rotary.

“As l stand here today, I am especially mindful of the example set by my late father, Benson U C Aghazu. Many knew him as Kpakpando Nnewi, many knew him as a successful business man and community leader. Rotarians knew him as a Servant leader” Rtn Aghazu pointed out.

The 10th President of Rotary Club, Nnewi Urban said that he accepted the position
because he believe Rotary changes lives and that communities are transformed when people of goodwill get together with a common purpose.

He expressed preparedness to work towards expanding membership of the club and deepening members engagement, noting that he would strengthen partnership with businesses community, organizations and public institutions in his tenure.

Rtn Aghazu also hope to elevate the public image of Rotary and ensure that the work of members inspire others to join up in service, “Most importantly, we will remain focused on projects that will create lasting value for our communities.

“Success will not be measured by the number of meetings we hold or the number of photographs we take,sucess will be measured by the lives we touch and the communities we improve.” He asserted.

Prince Charles Obi Orizu (Phf), Chief Sorge Egbuna, Ven. Samuel Okoli PhD, Dr Augustine Uzodike, Hon Tony Muodelo (Klassic) and others got Rotary Club Nnewi Urban’s award of recognition.
