In a move to significantly reduce road crashes involving Heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs), the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said it has successfully trained 2,493 Dangote Cement drivers at Ibese and Obajana plants between 3rd–17th August 2025.

During the exercise, FRSC said 2,731 Dangote trucks were thoroughly inspected for roadworthiness, reaffirming the Corps’ commitment to safer fleet operations nationwide.

“The drive for safety continues as another round of training for Dangote Cement drivers at Okpella and Gboko plants is scheduled for 1st–5th September 2025,” FRSC said in a statement.

“This annual certification programme not only equips drivers with the right knowledge and discipline but also strengthens the collective fight against road crashes on Nigerian highways.”

The FRSC Edo State Command has also held a strategic Town Hall Meeting with tanker, truck and trailer drivers as well as critical stakeholders at the NNPC Terminal Depot, Benin City.

With the theme “Safe Loading and Driving of Tankers and Trailers in Edo State”, the session created a platform for frank dialogue on how to curb the rising cases of crashes involving articulated vehicles, while stressing the importance of professionalism, safety compliance, and responsibility among drivers.
