Ridge Holland says ‘I am not donating the GoFundMe money’

What started as a well-intentioned fundraiser for former WWE superstar Ridge Holland has quickly grown complicated.

Just hours after appearing to distance himself from a GoFundMe set up to support him and his family during his recovery from injury following his WWE release, Holland — real name Luke Menzies — returned to social media to clarify his earlier statement.

“I am not donating the GoFundMe money,” Menzies wrote on Sunday afternoon. “Once I am earning money and in a position to donate, I will donate to charity. This will be the money I earn, not the GoFundMe money. I am not a scammer.”

Early Sunday morning, Menzies thanked supporters of the campaign, saying he had been unaware it was created by a family member — later revealed to be his mother.

“I’ve since requested that no further donations be accepted, and this change should take effect within the next 24 hours,” Menzies wrote in his initial statement on Sunday morning. “Once we figure out how to move forward and I recoup the amount donated, I will be donating said amount to charity.”

Menzies also apologized for any offense that the fundraiser may have caused.

Last week, he expressed concern about providing for his family and paying his mortgage after WWE chose not to renew his contract while he recovers from a foot injury and faces possible neck surgery. After saying he was “totally fucked,” Menzies was released — though his deal was reportedly set to expire later this month.

Following the GoFundMe’s launch, many questioned Menzies’ financial management. His latest comments have only fueled skepticism about a celebrity seeking public donations.

“Exactly what a scammer would say,” one person replied to his post, while another advised, “Quite the hole you’ve dug yourself here, sir. Might be a good time to put down the shovel.”
