William Agada

Spanish Segunda División side Real Zaragoza have confirmed the signing of Nigerian striker William Agada on a free transfer.

Agada has put pen to paper on a contract that will keep him at La Romareda until June 2026, adding attacking depth to Zaragoza’s squad ahead of the new campaign.

The 26-year-old forward becomes the third Nigerian player to feature for Los Maños, following in the footsteps of former internationals Ikechukwu Uche and James Igbekeme.

Agada joins Zaragoza after his stint with Real Salt Lake in Major League Soccer. During his time in the United States, he made 14 league appearances for RSL, scoring twice before becoming a free agent.

The striker began his professional career in Nigeria with Mighty Jets, before moving abroad. He has since spent the bulk of his career in Turkey, where he featured for several clubs and built a reputation as a physical and hardworking forward.

Real Zaragoza will hope Agada’s experience across different leagues and his familiarity with European football can translate into goals as they push for a strong campaign in Spain’s second tier.

For Agada, the move represents a fresh chapter and an opportunity to make his mark in Spanish football, while continuing the growing Nigerian presence at the historic club.
