The Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) of Community and Primary Schools in Amakohia, Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, has called on government and non-governmental organisations to intensify programmes that promote moral upbringing and civic responsibility among school children, particularly at the primary level.

The appeal was made during the presentation of prizes and gifts to outstanding pupils of Amakohia Community School and Amakohia Primary School, who excelled in the Moral and Civic Knowledge Project exercise organised by Path to Follow: Moral and Civic Knowledge Project in collaboration with the schools.

Speaking at the event, the PTA representative of Community School Amakohia, Steven Okwujiako Okosisi, commended the organisers and prayed for God’s blessings upon them for initiating a programme that would shape children into individuals of good character both now and in the future.

Also speaking, the PTA representative of Amakohia Primary School, Pascal Eze, expressed delight over the project’s positive impact on the wellbeing and development of the pupils.

The pupils of both schools expressed gratitude to the project team for the initiative, describing it as enlightening and beneficial, while appealing for its continuation.

In their separate remarks, the headmistresses of the schools appreciated the Chairman, Board of Trustees of Morals Path to Follow Foundation, Collins RU Ihekire, for facilitating the project in the schools.

The Headmistress of Community School Amakohia, Regina Ofoegbu, alongside her counterpart at Amakohia Primary School, Jane Ngozi Okoro, also lauded the organisers and the project coordinator, Chikezie Allwell Chinkata, for their dedication to instilling proper moral values in children within the community.

The teachers and management teams of the two schools offered prayers for all contributors to the success of the programme and urged the organisers to sustain the initiative to ensure continued positive impact on the pupils.
