PROMINENT DELTAN CHIEFTAIN FROM GBARAMATU RESIGNS FROM PDP

A prominent chieftain from Gbaramatu Kingdom in the Warri South-West Area of Delta State, Chief (Barr.) Bosin Ebikeme has resigned his membership from the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the State.

This was disclosed via a copy of the letter titled 'LETTER OF RESIGNATION' dated 20th June 2022, addressed to the Ward Chairman, People's Democratic Party, Gbaramatu Ward 04, Warri South-West LGA, and signed by Chief (Barr.) Bosin B. Ebikeme.

According to Chief Ebikeme, who said that the reasons for the resignation from the ruling party is "personal" thanked the Party for the honour given him to serve in various capacities while still a member of the PDP.

He however did not disclose if he will still be involved in politics and to that extent, on what political party platform he will be doing so, though speculations making the rounds give the feeler that he will be pitching his tent with the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 general elections in the State.

Recall that Chief Ebikeme was in 2015 sworn-in as a former Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa on Petroleum Matters, the last portfolio held while still in the party.

Below is the content of the letter which reads:

"I am writing to intimate you of my resignation from the People's Democratic Party with effect from 20th June 2022.

"My decision to resign is purely on personal reasons, after due consideration and consultations with my political family and mentors.

"I wish to thank the Party for the opportunity given me to serve in various capacities."
