Police arrest two suspects in the Berekum Chelsea team attack 

The police have arrested two suspects in connection with the robbery attack on the Berekum Chelsea Football Team, which led to the death of Dominic Frimpong, one of the players, on Sunday, April 12, 2026. 

A press release copied to the Ghana News Agency on Thursday said the gang leader and one other suspect in connection with the robbery incident were arrested. 

One suspect, it said, sustained injuries during an exchange of fire with the police intelligence team. 

The release said the injured suspect had been conveyed to the hospital for medical attention. 

Frimpong lost his life when he and his team were returning from the Ghana Premier League match with FC Samartex 1996, when they were allegedly attacked by a robbery gang. 

He was a former player of Aduana FC.
