Pink-lipped Bandit all smiles as police nabbed him and his gang members in Kano

Police operatives in Kano State have arrested a notorious 27-year-old gang leader, Ibrahim Rabiu aka Janare, and at least seven members of his gang.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, in a statement on Friday, December 15, 2023, said the suspect, lives at Kwanar Ungogo Quarters.

“Janare, who is been identified as a t£rror leading a gang of over 200 youths has on the 9th of November 2023 coordinated criminal activities that included blocking the road between Kano to Katsina road and some areas around Kurna Quarters, and ext%rted money from several innocent individuals, motorist and also rob and v@ndalize people’s property.

According to some victims’ accounts, his gang members engaged in demanding one thousand Naira from each victim being tr@pped and seeking passage. Janare’s action caused much hardship and apprehension among the members of the public.

Janare’s arrest was by a dedicated team from Anti-Daba Operatives led by SP Hussaini Gimba during an intelligence-led operation alongside seven of his gang members,” the statement reads.

During the operation, the following exhibits were recovered: Two unregistered motorcycles, three Papalow Swords, four cutlasses, 27 potwin inj£ction, among others.
