Piesie Esther confident of winning TGMA Artiste of the Year over Black Sherif if both are nominated again

Ghanaian gospel powerhouse Piesie Esther is confident that she can win the Artiste of the Year title if she and Black Sherif receive nominations in the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

In an interview with Nii Noi on Hitz FM, the award-winning singer reflected on her 2023 nomination, where she lost the top prize to Black Sherif. She mentioned that while she would have loved to win, she accepted the outcome as “the will of God.”

“Being nominated alone was a big step for me,” she said, remembering how far she has come from her humble beginnings to being recognized among Ghana’s best musicians.

Now, two years later, Piesie Esther believes things will change. With fresh energy, several successful performances, and her recent hit single ‘Nyame Ye’, she feels prepared for another chance at the top spot.

“This year has been exceptional. Both Black Sherif and I have worked hard, met all the criteria, and entertained audiences with our music. But I believe that if we are both nominated again, I’ll win this time,” she confidently stated.

Piesie Esther added that her consistency and influence in gospel music, along with how her latest song has resonated with fans of all ages, including children, have boosted her confidence.

She ended with optimism, saying, “I’ve put in the work, and I’m sure that if I get nominated again, I’ll win the Artiste of the Year easily.”
