Phyna’s sister Ruth Otabor dies weeks after accident with Dangote truck

Ruth Otabor, the younger sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner Phyna, has died following the injuries she sustained in a road accident in Edo State.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, near Auchi Polytechnic, just six days after Ruth completed her studies at the institution.

A truck linked to the Dangote Group reportedly ran into her, leaving her with life-threatening injuries.

She was rushed to Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, where doctors amputated her left leg in an attempt to save her.

She was later transferred to Lagoon Hospital in Lagos for proper care.

Phyna had earlier called for her sister to be flown abroad for further treatment before the tragic outcome.
