RM Sotheby’s expects 1989 Boschert B300 Gullwing to fetch between $265,000 and $315,000 on November 25.

The one-off Boschert B300 made its grand debut at the 1989 Frankfurt International Motor Show.

But this example from a planned 300 units was the only one to sport the head-turning trademark gullwing doors.

Its 283-hp 3.0-liter engine allows it to accelerate to 60 mph in under 6 seconds. It is capable of reaching a top speed of around 165 mph.

Collector car auction company, RM Sotheby’s, is auctioning off a one-of-a-kind 1989 Boschert B300 Gullwing on November 25th 2023 in Munich, where it is expected to fetch between $265,000 and $315,000.

The extraordinary 1989 Boschert B300 was created by German engineer Hartmut Boschert, whose work was also inspired by tuner Styling-Garage’s 2-door C126-based 500SGS Gullwing from the early 1980s.

Based on a 1989 Mercedes-Benz W124-generation 300CE, the heavily modified Coupe features a front end and front seats taken from an R129 SL Class and special Boschert badgings to distinguish it from a stock Mercedes.

But the highlight of the Boschert B300 design was its gullwing doors first seen in the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL introduced in 1954 — a Grand tourer which was voted the “sports car of the century” in 1999.
