The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has shared a picture of a flagged down overloaded vehicle on its official Facebook page, captioning the post with “an overloaded vehicle arrested earlier today 08/09/2024”

Founded in 1988, the FRSC’s statutory functions includes making the highways safe for motorists and other road users. According to the agency, overloading attracts a fine of Ten Thousand Naira only (₦10,000.00).

Exceeding a vehicle’s payload capacity through overloading like in the picture shared will not only damage the suspension but also makes the vehicle less stable and more difficult to steer.
