PDP Chieftain cries as his home is marked for demolition in 7 days

Businessman and politician, Arc Uche Rochas took to social media to lament after his home was marked for demolition despite acquiring all the necessary permits from authorities.

He made this known in a tweet in X noting that he had a certificate of occupancy from the Federal Housing Authority (FHA).

“After acquiring all the necessary approval including CofO from FHA, and this demolition notice still happened after 7 years of living here. All the buildings in the estate were marked for demolition. And I guess you know the reason why,” he wrote.

He accused the Lagos State Government of collaborating with FHA to demolish his home based in Festac explaining that he didn’t build on the waterway.

The Lagos State Government has been on a demolition spree to take down structures causing setbacks along the Ikota drainage channel.

The incident began on October 12.

Punch reports that the owners of the affected structures had been served a series of contravention notices well over two decades ago.

Also affected were similar structures at Gedegede communities in the Lekki Phase 2 area of the state.
