Passenger Banned for Life After Sl£pping Flight Attendant Mid-Flight

A video has gone viral showing the moment an elderly passenger slapped a flight attendant aboard a packed aircraft following an onboard incident.

The passenger, identified by her surname Zhang, has since been placed on a permanent no-fly list by Tigerair Taiwan.

The incident occurred on April 3 aboard Flight IT753, which was traveling from Fukushima to Taipei.

According to reports, shortly after takeoff, the captain instructed all passengers to remain seated with their seatbelts fastened. Despite this, the 71-year-old passenger reportedly stood up in the cabin to put on her shoes.

At the same time, a flight attendant identified as Liu was moving through the aisle to ensure compliance with safety procedures when she accidentally bumped into the passenger.

Witnesses stated that Liu approached Zhang to address the situation, offering an apology along with medical assistance and an ice pack.

However, the situation escalated when Zhang began shouting and subsequently struck the flight attendant.

A witness recounted: “The flight attendant asked if she needed a doctor, and she said it wasn’t serious, but she continued yelling and even slapped the attendant.

“It’s truly admirable how hard these flight attendants work.”

Following the incident, the cabin crew alerted the pilot, who contacted authorities on the ground.

Upon landing at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, officers from the Aviation Police Bureau boarded the aircraft and took the passenger into custody.

Both the passenger and the flight attendant have reportedly indicated plans to pursue legal action against each other for battery, with the crew member also considering additional charges of public insult.

In an official statement, Tigerair Taiwan condemned the passenger’s actions and confirmed that legal support is being provided to the affected staff member.

The airline also confirmed that Zhang has been formally blacklisted from all future flights.

Speaking about the incident, a spokesperson for the airline said: “During the journey, a passenger lost control of her emotions and slapped an on-duty cabin crew member.

“Tigerair Taiwan expresses the strongest condemnation against such behaviour that seriously violates employee dignity and personal safety.

“We will fully defend our colleagues’ legal rights and have appointed lawyers to assist the staff involved.

“The safety of crew members on duty is closely related to flight safety.

“To protect the rights and interests of all colleagues and passengers, the airline has placed the passenger exhibiting irrational behaviour in the cabin on our no-fly list.”
