Gift Orban

Gift Orban is expected to return to TSG Hoffenheim at the end of the season following the conclusion of his loan spell with Hellas Verona.

The Nigerian striker joined Verona on loan last summer in a deal that included an option to make the move permanent. However, the Serie A side have reportedly decided against activating that clause.

Orban featured regularly for the Yellow and Blues, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in 28 league appearances. Despite his contributions, a prolonged goal drought—stretching nearly three months—appears to have influenced the club’s decision.

According to German outlet BILD, Verona will not pursue a permanent transfer, paving the way for the 23-year-old to return to Hoffenheim, where he remains under contract until 2029.

Orban only joined the Bundesliga side in January 2025 for €9 million from Olympique Lyonnais and will now look to re-establish himself ahead of next season.
