Obinna to Furnish Goliath wa Bungoma’s House After Dramatic Reconciliation

Kenyan YouTuber Steve Maghana, popularly known as Obinna, has promised to furnish the house of creator Isaac Otesa, now known as Goliath wa Bungoma, after resolving their public misunderstanding.

Speaking during a recent interview, Obinna clarified that he did not mean to demean or discourage Goliath in his earlier remarks, explaining that at the time of the interview, he had no support to offer.

“I would say that whatever happened on that day of the interview was not intended, but God works in miraculous ways. If I were to say sorry, it would not be ideal, that would sound mean because it would mean that I want you to go back to ushago. It’s because we looked and saw there was no way I could have helped, but God worked for you,” said Obinna.

The former radio presenter further committed to fully furnishing Goliath’s house as compensation for the humiliation he endured following the comments.

Obinna went on to commend Goliath for his resilience and determination despite numerous struggles, promising to buy a car from him through Car Soko in installments.

“I will furnish that house, leave it for me, and come wherever you want me to come for you, let me know. I will also buy that car for him to receive the bonuses. Not in cash, because that’s how I also buy my own.”

Following the incident, Goliath received overwhelming support from Kenyans. Among those who stepped in was Geoffrey Mosiria, who found him a job as a bouncer and later as a brand ambassador for Car Soko, a car dealership in Nairobi.

Obinna’s Interview with Goliath wa Bungoma

During an interview on December 9, 2024, Obinna advised Goliath wa Bungoma to return to his village in Bungoma and asked what else he could offer besides his height.

Obinna later clarified that this was honest guidance, arguing that Nairobi’s lifestyle is expensive and that Goliath lacked clear talent or monetary value at the time.

The advice was perceived by many viewers and by Goliath himself as demeaning.

After receiving job offers from Goefrey Mosiria as a bouncer and brand ambassador for Car Soko, the creator built a house.

Goliath Wa Bungoma’s Rise to Fame

He shot to fame in the aftermath of the June 2024 protests in Kenya after claiming he was related to Bradley Marongo, popularly known as Gen Z Goliath. He was then nicknamed the Bungoma Goliath because of his height, which was likened to that of the Biblical Goliath.

Goliath wa Bungoma traveled from Bungoma to Nairobi specifically to meet Bradley, hoping to share in the spotlight, but that did not happen.

In an unlikely twist of events, Otesa started appealing to Kenyans for recognition by showcasing his physical capabilities, such as claiming he could eat more than 3kg of ugali in a single meal.

He also trended significantly after a video emerged of him fainting during a prayer session with Pastor Victor Kanyari in Nairobi.

However, after a difficult period in Nairobi, where he struggled to find food and shelter, he was rescued by Car Soko.

The dealership handed him a role as their brand ambassador, giving him a complete makeover with custom-made suits and a new house, which further solidified his celebrity status.
