Sporting Lagos have encouraged their supporters to expect an emotional end to the 2023-24 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, season.

The Abdullahi Biffo’s side will lock horns with Shooting Stars in their final game of the season on Sunday.

Sporting Lagos need a win from the game to escape relegation.

“Sunday will be emotional, it’ll be the last day of a historic campaign for us — our debut NPFL season,” Sporting Lagos wrote in a press release.

“It’ll also decide our fate. A win against Shooting Stars in Ibadan could mean we survive and play in the NPFL next season. A loss means we’re no longer in the NPFL, and next season, we have to start the journey to the top flight again.

“Whatever the result, Sunday will be emotional. And here’s to hoping we’re safe.”
