Super Falcons’ first-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie capped her debut for Brighton & Hove Albion with a Player of the Match award on Sunday.

Brighton confirmed the recognition in a statement on its official X handle on Monday, 

It wrote: “First appearance, first @British_Airways Player of the Match award! Congrats, Chiamaka!”

Nnadozie, who joined the club from French side Paris FC during the summer, impressed in goal as Brighton played out a goalless draw against Aston Villa in the English Women’s Super League.

The 23-year-old finished top of the fan vote with 83 percent, ahead of teammates Rachel McLaughlan (8%), Madison Haley (5%), and Jelena Čanković (4%).

Nnadozie, who was named Best Goalkeeper at the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after helping Nigeria clinch a record 10th title, has now made an instant impact in England’s topflight.
