Nigeria @65: Chief Lawrence Adenugba Salutes Founding Fathers, Preaches Hope and Unity

As Nigeria marks her 65th Independence Anniversary, Chief Lawrence Adenugba, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, has joined millions of citizens at home and abroad to celebrate the historic milestone, saluting the courage of the nation’s founding fathers while urging Nigerians to embrace hope, unity, and patriotism.
In his goodwill message, Chief Adenugba described October 1, 1960, as a watershed moment in Nigeria’s history, noting that the vision, sacrifices, and resilience of the country’s nationalists laid the foundation for the freedom enjoyed today.

He highlighted that at 65, Nigeria has come a long way, weathering storms of political upheavals, economic challenges, and social trials, yet still standing united as one indivisible nation.

Chief Adenugba emphasized that the best way to honor the memory of leaders like Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Sir Ahmadu Bello, and Sir Tafawa Balewa is by consolidating the ideals of unity, justice, and selfless service which they lived for.

While acknowledging the current challenges facing the nation, ranging from insecurity to economic pressures, he urged Nigerians not to despair but to hold fast to the hope of a brighter tomorrow. He stressed that with the right leadership, faith in God, and collective commitment, Nigeria’s best days are still ahead.

He also pointed out that Nigeria’s diversity remains its greatest strength, adding that unity and mutual understanding are the keys to overcoming present struggles and achieving the greatness the nation desires.

The APC stalwart further called on political leaders across all divides to place the interest of the nation above personal ambitions, stressing that governance should be about service, accountability, and delivery of dividends of democracy to the people.

Chief Adenugba congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, state governors, and other leaders on steering the ship of the nation, while charging them to intensify efforts in creating jobs, strengthening security, and ensuring equitable development across all regions.

Finally, he prayed for peace, stability, and continued progress for Nigeria as she advances into a new chapter of her national journey.
