Neglect of traditions causing untimely deaths – Yul Edochie raises alarm

Yul Edochie, a veteran in Nollywood, recently expressed concerns about the alarming rate of untimely deaths among young people. He believes the neglect of traditional customs and practices is to blame for this trend.

In a post on Instagram,Yul Edochie lamented the growing number of deaths among those in their twenties, thirties, and forties. He pointed to society’s abandonment of indigenous traditions in favor of foreign religions after the westernization of the country.

According to the father of five, powerful spirits once revered in traditional practices are now angered by their abandonment, leading to tragic consequences. He urged Nigerians to reconnect with their roots and embrace the “pure and powerful” traditions of their ancestors.

“Too many premature deaths these days. Young people dying in their twenties, thirties, forties. It is not normal. It is happening because we have abandoned our traditional ways and embraced the ways of oyinbo people.

“The spirits that protect many of us and our lands are angry because they have been relegated. We must go back to our traditional ways, which are very pure and powerful,” he wrote.
