NDIC Wins 2026 ‘Pillar of Integrity in Public Service’ Award

The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has been honoured with the 2026 Pillar of Integrity in Public Service Award by Verbatim Magazine for its demonstrated commitment to ethics, transparency and accountability in public service.

The award was presented at a ceremony organised by Verbatim Print & Broadcast Limited in partnership with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in Abuja.

The recognition followed the NDIC’s emergence as the second overall organisation in the 2025 Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard (EICS) conducted by the ICPC.

The EICS is an integrity assessment framework developed by the anti-corruption commission to promote ethical standards, accountability and anti-corruption practices across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the Federal Government.

The framework assesses participating public institutions across four major areas: Management Culture and Structure; Financial Management System; Administrative Systems; and Anti-Corruption Initiatives.

The award therefore recognised the NDIC’s performance within the ICPC’s integrity assessment framework and its institutional commitment to strengthening ethical standards and accountability in the discharge of its public responsibilities.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman of the ICPC, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, represented by the Director, Systems Study and Review Department (SSRD), Mr. Olusegun Adigun, delivered a keynote address titled, “The Power of Integrity in National Development: Strengthening Public Institutions, Restoring Trust and Driving Prosperity.”

Aliyu, through his representative, underscored the importance of integrity in strengthening public institutions, rebuilding citizens’ confidence in government agencies and supporting sustainable national development.

The event brought together stakeholders from public institutions and the anti-corruption community to highlight the importance of ethical conduct, transparency and accountability in public administration.

The Managing Director/Chief Executive of the NDIC was represented at the ceremony by the Corporation’s Head of Communication and Public Affairs, Hawwau Gambo.

The award adds to the NDIC’s recognition under the ICPC’s 2025 Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard and places further emphasis on the role of institutional ethics and accountability in the delivery of public services.
