NDC and NPP Campaign

The post NDC and NPP in a Heated Final Campaign Push On Election Eve in Ghana appeared first on OccupyGh.com.

On the eve of Ghana’s 2024 general election, the political temperature reached its peak as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) held their final rallies.

In Accra, the NPP gathered at the University of Ghana Sports Complex, where their flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, highlighted economic successes and infrastructure achievements as reasons for continuity. Meanwhile, the NDC’s rally at Zurak Park in Madina saw John Mahama calling for change, promising economic revival and stronger anti-corruption measures.

The heightened campaign activity has drawn significant security measures, with the Ghana Police Service deploying helicopters to monitor rallies and ensure peace.

Despite these efforts, tension is high as the NDC accuses the Electoral Commission and the NPP of voter manipulation through alleged illegal voter transfers, a charge the NPP denies.

With just hours until election day, the NPP appears focused on securing every possible vote, while the NDC banks on voter dissatisfaction with the current administration.

Both parties have made bold claims about the election’s outcome, with NPP leaders such as Bryan Acheampong declaring their resolve not to concede power easily.

As Ghana prepares for the polls on December 7, 2024, all eyes are on the electorate, with security forces and stakeholders urging a peaceful and transparent process.

This election is poised to shape the nation’s political and economic trajectory for the next four years.
